BBARC 146.620 McDonald Observatory Site Alignment:
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER RECEIVER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater input BNC connector.
      2. 146.020 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. Receiver coils.
    4. Verify:
      1. -117 engage and -119 drop out.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER TRANSMITTER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Preamp input N connector.
      2. 146.020 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. KPG91D software - PROGRAM - TEST MODE - TX LOW POWER.
      2. Set level to ~126 for desired output.
    4. Verify:
      1. ~25 watts.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER DUPLEXERS:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Duplexer antenna connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Duplexer antenna connector.
      2. 146.020 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation.
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. Duplexers.
    4. Verify:
      1. 119 engage and -121 drop out.
      2. 17 watts.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER RECEIVER MAXIMUM DEVIATION:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Preamp input N connector.
      2. 146.020 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 7.0 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. KPG91D software - PROGRAM - TEST MODE - MAX DEVIATION WIDE).
      2. Set level to ~150 for desired output.
    4. Verify:
      1. 5~6.0 KHZ deviation maximum.
    5. Finish:
      1. Remove injected signal.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER RECEIVER QT (CTCSS) DEVIATION:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Nothing.
    3. Adjust:
      1. KPG91D software - PROGRAM - TEST MODE - QT DEVIATION (WIDE).
      2. Set level to ~106 for desired output.
    4. Verify:
      1. 0.5 KHZ of 146.2 HZ deviation.
  • VHF DUPLEXER OPERATION:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater Duplexer output UHF connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Duplexer output UHF connector.
      2. 146.020.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Verify:
      1. -116 DBM engage, -119 DBM release.
      2. 22 watts output.
      3. No desense.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER RECEIVE AUDIO TO CONTROLLER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. RMS volts AC.
      2. RLC-1 Controller C9 lead nearest to the DB9 connector.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Duplexer output UHF connector.
      2. 146.020.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. KPG91D software - PROGRAM - TEST MODE - RA LEVEL.
      2. REPEAT = ON.
      3. You'll need to exit RA LEVEL to hear repeat audio.
      4. Set level to ~200 for desired output.
    4. Verify:
      1. 0.707 VAC.
    5. Monitor:
      1. RMS volts AC.
      2. RLC-1 Controller "MI" test point...
    6. Adjust:
      1. RLC-1 Controller "MAIN REC" pot.
      2. Set level to desired output.
    7. Verify:
      1. 0.707 VAC.
    8. Finish:
      1. Exit TEST MODE.
  • VHF LOCAL REPEATER RECEIVE AUDIO TO UHF LINK RADIO TRANSMITTER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Link Radio antenna connector.
      2. 443.000 MHZ.
      3. RLC-1 Controller ""LO" test point.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Duplexer output UHF connector.
      2. 146.020.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. RLC-1 Controller "LINK TRANS" pot. 
      2. Set level to desired output.
    4. Verify:
      1. 4.2 KHZ deviation.
      2. ~0.561 VAC.
  • UHF LINK RADIO RECEIVER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Link Radio antenna connector.
      2. 448.000 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. Whatever you can.
    4. Verify:
      1. -119 engage and -121 drop out.
    5. Monitor:
      1. RMS volts AC.
      2. RLC-1 Controller "LI" test point.
    6. Adjust:
      1. RLC-1 Controller "LINK REC" pot.
    7. Verify:
      1. 0.707 VAC.
    8. Monitor:
      1. RLC-1 Controller "MO" test point.
    9. Adjust:
      1. RLC-1 Controller "MAIN TRANS." pot.
    10. Verify:
      1. 0.3535 VAC.
    11. Monitor:
      1. Local Repeater transmitter output N connector.
      2. 146.620 MHZ.
    12. Adjust:
      1. KPG91D software - PROGRAM - TEST MODE - TX AUDIO INPUT (TA).
      2. TX = ON.
      3. Set level to ~200 for desired output.
    13. Verify:
      1. 4.2 KHZ deviation.
  • UHF LINK RADIO TRANSMITTER:
    1. Monitor:
      1. Link Radio antenna connector.
      2. 443.000 MHZ.
    2. Inject:
      1. Into Local Repeater Duplexer output UHF connector.
      2. 146.020 MHZ.
      3. 1.0 KHZ audio at 3.5 KHZ deviation
      4. 146.2 HZ CTCSS at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Adjust:
      1. Whatever you can.
    4. Verify:
      1. ~12 watts.
