BBARC 444.625 Davis Mountain Resort Alignment:

 

PORT #1 LOCAL REPEATER
(444.625 Motorola Micor)

  • RECEIVER:
    1. Adjust the Micor receiver crystal to 437.925 MHZ.
    2. Inject the following 449.625 MHZ, full quieting signal into the receiver antenna connection:
      1. 1.0 KHZ at 3.5 KHZ deviation.
      2. 0.1462 KHZ at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    3. Verify at least -110 DBM engage and -115 DBM drop-out into receiver antenna connection.
    4. Reset injected signal to full quieting.
    5. Connect an A.C. voltmeter to the Micor back plane, TB3-17 (RX Audio to Controller).
    6. Adjust the receiver Audio & Squelch board LINE LEVEL pot (R203) to 0.200 VRMS.
    7. In the RLC-1, connect the voltmeter to the "MN RX" test point.
    8. Adjust the RLC-1, "MAIN RX" pot to 0.707 Vrms.
  • TRANSMITTER:
    1. Remove the injected signal.
    2. Key the Micor via the Station Control Module "XMIT" switch.
    3. Adjust the TX Crystal element to 444.625.
    4. Adjust the "Power Set" control to about 20 watts.
    5. On the added Selectone ST-100 CTCSS encoder:
      1. Adjust the single turn pot for 0.500 KHZ deviation on 444.625 MHZ.
      2. Adjust the multiturn pot for 146.2 HZ of CTCSS deviation on 444.625 MHZ.
    6. Repease the "XMIT" switch to unkey the Micor.
    7. Re-inject the following 449.625 MHZ, full quieting signal into the receiver antenna connection:
      1. 1.0 KHZ at 3.5 KHZ deviation.
      2. 0.1462 KHZ at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    8. Adjust the RLC-1, "MN TX" pot to 0.610 Vrms or 4.2 KHZ deviation on 444.625.
    9. Remove the injected signal.
  • TONES:
    1. Press the "RESET" button on the RLC-1.
    2. Adjust the RLC-1, "MAIN TONE" pot to 1.5 KHZ deviation or so.

PORT #2 LINK RADIO
(443.000 Motorola Maxtrac)

  • RECEIVER:
    1. Inject the following 448.000 MHZ, full quieting signal into the Link Radio antenna connection:
      1. 1.0 KHZ at 3.5 KHZ deviation.
      2. 0.1462 KHZ at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    2. Verify receiver sensitivity of around -118 DB into the Link Radio antenna connection.
    3. Reset the signal to full quieting.
    4. Connect the meter to the RLC-1, "LK RX " test point.
    5. Adjust the RLC-1, "LINK RX " pot to 0.707 VRMS.
    6. Remove the injected signal.
  • TRANSMITTER:
    1. Key the Link Radio with the radio's microphone.
    2. Verify 443.000 MHZ at around 10 Watts.
    3. Disconnect microphone and re-insert the dummy plug in the front of the radio.
    4. Inject the following 449.625 MHZ, full quieting signal into the Local Repeater receiver antenna connection:
      1. 1.0 KHZ at 3.5 KHZ deviation.
      2. 0.1462 KHZ at 0.5 KHZ deviation.
    5. Connect the meter to the RLC-1, "LK TX" test point.
    6. Adjust the RLC-1, "LINK TRANS." pot to ~180 Vrms or 4.2 KHZ deviation on 443.000 MHZ.
    7. Go have a beer.
