The Big Bend Amateur Radio Club is based in Alpine, Texas and covers the entire Big Bend area of West Texas. The club is open to anyone interested in amateur radio activities.  Join us at our monthly meeting or on the air via one of our weekly nets.  Contact us by email.

New Members and Visitors

New or interested members can find information on our New Member page.  The page includes BBARC New Member form and information about dues.  There is also an ARRL Membership form.  Join both with one payment!  Donations to club can be made through our PayPal page.  Visitors to the Big Bend should try the 2m repeaters and participate in our 2m net.  The repeaters also have EchoLink access.  Sign up for the club’s monthly newsletter.

Club Monthly Meeting December 14th

The next club monthly meeting will be at the American Legion Hall in Alpine.  Doors open at 7:00pm and meeting starts at 7:30pm.  Location is 306 W Sul Ross Ave.  A silent auction so far features baked goods and radios.  We will also have officer elections.

ARRL Directors Meeting December 18th

The meeting is back on, set for 9am at the Alpine Ameican Legion Hall, 306 W Sul Ross Ave.  Sign up for the meeting here.

The meeting includes all BBARC members, area hams, and three distinguished visitors.  Dale Durham W5WI is the WTX Section Manager.  David Overton KF5WDJ is the WTX Emergency Coordinator.   John Stratton N5AUS is the West Gulf Coast director.  This is a special meeting, not campaigning or visiting the clubs.  They are coming to talk to our club and have some important news.

Ultra Race January 16th

The Ultra Race needs BBARC radio operators.  Jim KD5KBU will be the BBARC volunteer manager and net control in the club’s RV.  The race start and finish, and the club’s RV will be at the Barton Warnock Center in Lajitas.  The volunteers need to arrive very early that Sunday morning, and the race may not complete until 9pm.  Here is the sign up list.
