Field Day Duties
Field Day Station Sign Up
Get on the lists to operate the three K5FD stations – SSB, CW, 6m, and GOTA (KI5SNZ or own call sign) is what we call them. SSB, 6m, and GOTA are in the Calamity Palace. CW is in the club RV near the highway. Station managers are Mike WA5POK for CW, Chuck KA5PVB for 6m, and John KI5SNZ for GOTA. Signing up here means you want to operate the station. The manager will have this list and use email to fill out the time slots. During Field Day, the operator time slots will be on paper at the station. Here are the four volunteer opportunity sign up links.
SSB in the Calamity Palace
6m in the Calamity Palace, Chuck KA5PVB station manager
CW in the RV, Mike WA5POK station manager
GOTA in the Calamity Palace, John KI5SNZ station manager
The Double Diamond Club House is on Hwy 118 south of Alpine about 6 miles. After crossing the Big Hill, LA Vista RV Park is on the left and the Double Diamond club house a little farther on the right. Take a right at the double diamond steel sign and look for the building, antennas, and vehicles set off from the highway and behind the building on the highway. Here is a map to the location.
Meals are once again a feature of Field Day. A payment plan and PayPal will soon be available. The prices have not changed in 40 years and may increase $5 this year. The following meals are part of Field Day:
Sunday lunch (eat everything left)
Bring a 12-pack or case of water or soda for the community cooler.
Bring own adult beverages, maybe extras, too.
