The Big Bend Amateur Radio Club operates two weekly emergency preparedness nets.
Big Bend Emergency Net
Meets every Sunday morning at 8:15 A.M. CST/CDT on 3922 kHz
The BBEN is a controlled net format. A roll call uses the roster, followed by a roundtable discussion. The net welcomes new participants and visitors. The BBEN was established by Bob Ward WA5ROE on September 18, 1977. Net Manager is Bob WA5ROE.
Big Bend 2-meter Net
Meets every Wednesday evening at 8:00 P.M. CST/CDT
on the 2m repeater system
The 2m Net is a controlled net format. A roll call of the repeaters, mobile, and EchoLink takes checkins, followed by a roundtable discussion. The 2m Net welcomes new participants and visitors. The 2m Net was established by Bob Ayer KA1AAJ (SK). Net Manager is Chuck Dobbins KA5PVB.
