The HET is one of the McDonald Observatory buildings on Mount Locke. From Fort Davis, take 118 west up the mountain past the Davis Mountains State Park. Go all the way to the highest point on the highway and follow the signs to the McDonald Observatory visitor center.
We will meet outside the HET building and there is parking at the entrance. To get to the HET building from the visitor center, go west through the visitor center parking lot to the road that goes up the hill. You will pass the large radio dish. At the top of thill is a T, go left. The HET building is now visible ahead.
